Settle a stuck or disputed match

Find the open match, pick the right outcome with /setresult, and know what each one does to ratings.

When a match is stuck, or the two teams don't agree on who won, a Scrim Supervisor or Manager settles it. You end up with the right result, and the players can queue again.

Find the match

  1. Type !matches in any channel. Only Supervisors and Managers can use it. It lists every open match with its channel and both teams. Everyone in that channel can see the list, so use a staff channel. If your server changed its prefix, type that instead of !. Dashboard tournament matches are not on this list.
  2. Managers can also open the dashboard's Live page and look under Matches in progress. Each match shows if it's still in the Ready check, how long ago it started, and any result votes so far.
  3. Open the match channel. Anyone with the Scrim Manager or Scrim Supervisor role, or their Off Duty roles, can see every match channel.
  4. Read the chat and ask both teams what happened.

Set the result

  1. In the match channel, run /setresult.
  2. For outcome, pick Team 1 wins, Team 2 wins, Draw or Cancel (no post).
  3. Fill in reason. It's optional, but it goes in the log with your name.
ChoiceWhat happens
Team 1 wins, Team 2 winsThe same as a vote that passed. In ranked, ratings change, the result is posted in #scrim-results, MVP votes count and a rematch is offered. A casual result is posted in #scrim-results too.
DrawIn ranked, it counts as a played match. Nobody's rating changes, and win streaks go back to zero. Nothing is posted in #scrim-results.
Cancel (no post)Nothing goes in #scrim-results, and nobody's stats change.

Casual queues, lobbies and tournament matches never change ratings, whatever you pick. The match channel is deleted 5 minutes later. Just before that, the bot uploads the chat as a text file to the log channel. After setup, that's #brawlscrims-logs. To pick another, set Log channel on the Setup page.

Things that catch people out

  • Once the vote has passed, /setresult no longer works in that channel. See Fix a wrong result.
  • If you're a Manager only through the Manage Server permission, with no staff role, you can't see match channels. Give yourself the Scrim Manager role.
  • If not everyone readies up within 4 minutes, the match is cancelled by itself. In ranked, players who didn't ready up get a warning. In casual, they only get one if Warn no-shows in casual too is on, under No-shows on the Settings page. Pick Cancel (no post) before then if nobody should be warned.
  • If nobody settles a match, it stops blocking its players from queueing 3 hours after it started. Settle it sooner and they can play again straight away.
  • Tournaments built on the dashboard don't use /setresult. In the match channel, press the button with the winning team's name. From staff who aren't playing, one press settles it. A host can also set the winner on the dashboard. See Running a tournament.
