How-to
Close, reopen or clear a queue
Close one queue or all of them, empty a stuck queue, and get queues going again after a bot update.
This page shows how to close queues, empty a stuck one, and get queues going again after a bot update. Only Managers can open the dashboard. That means the Scrim Manager role, the server owner, or anyone with Manage Server or Administrator.
Close one queue
- Open the dashboard's Live page. Every queue has its own card.
- Press Close on the queue's card. Everyone waiting in it is taken out. The queue's panel in Discord shows a grey Queue closed button, so nobody can join.
- To open it again, press Reopen on the same card.
A closed queue stays closed through bot restarts, until someone reopens it.
Close every queue
- Type
!closequeue. This closes every queue in the server, not only the one you type in. Everyone waiting is taken out. - Type
!openqueueto reopen them all. It also reopens queues that were closed one at a time on the dashboard, and redraws every panel.
Only Managers can use these two. Queues closed this way also stay closed through bot restarts.
Did your server change the ! to something else? Then type your own prefix
instead. See Change the command prefix.
Empty a stuck queue
- Press Clear on its card on the Live page. The page asks first, because everyone waiting is taken out. When nobody is waiting, the button is faded and can't be pressed.
- Or type
!resetqueueinside the queue channel. Scrim Supervisors can use this one too.
Clearing doesn't close the queue. Players can join again straight away.
When the bot is updated
- Most updates take a few minutes. Before one, queue panels say Bot update in a few minutes. Queues stay open and you keep your spot, but no new match starts until the bot is back.
- After the update everyone is back where they were: the same queues, in the same order, and the same parties. Nobody needs to join again. After a long break, over half an hour, the queues start empty instead.
- A queue match still running at shutdown carries on. Its channel says The bot restarted, and the match post comes back with working buttons. A tournament match, a lobby or a match where a player left the server ends instead, and no rating changes. More in Finish a match.
- When a tournament or a lobby is running, the update gets an hour's warning instead: the bot
posts Scheduled Bot Update in every queue channel, and queues close 45 minutes before
it goes offline, so those can finish. Anyone waiting is taken out then, so the queues are
empty after this kind of update. Parties are kept. Queues closed for the update come back open. Queues
staff closed themselves, with Close or
!closequeue, stay closed, on purpose.
If something still looks wrong:
- A queue still shows Queue closed? A Manager types
!openqueue. It reopens every closed queue and redraws every panel. So it also fixes a panel that only looks closed. If the queue's card on the Live page shows Reopen, pressing it works too. - A panel is missing, or the slash commands are gone? A Manager types
!fullsetup. It posts the queue panels again and registers the slash commands again.
!reopenall and !restart are only for the
bot's own owner, not for server staff. Use Reopen or !openqueue
instead. If the bot's owner uses !reopenall, it also reopens queues your staff
closed on purpose. Your log channel then says the owner did it.Next: Queues, parties and avoids, or every staff command in Staff powers.
