How-to
Make players verify before they queue
Turn on the Brawl Stars account check, help players who get stuck, and control nickname changes.
When you finish this page, only players who linked their Brawl Stars account can join your queues. You will also know how to help players who get stuck, and how to control nickname changes.
Turn it on
- Open the dashboard's Settings page and open the Moderation & access section.
- Tick Require Brawl Stars verification.
- Press Save settings in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Or type !set requireverify 1 in Discord. It is off by default. The dashboard's Setup page has the same choice: the box Require Brawl Stars verification before queuing. The Setup button in !panel asks it too.
What players do
- Run
/verify tag:#TAGwith their own player tag. - Change their in-game profile icon to the one the bot shows.
- Wait. The bot checks every 30 seconds for up to 15 minutes and sends a DM when it works. Or run
/verifyconfirmto check straight away.
After 15 minutes the check stops. The player must run /verify again.
After that they can change the icon back. The full player steps are in Linking your Brawl Stars account.
An unverified player who presses Join Queue is told to verify first. A party can't join until every member is verified. The bot lists who isn't.
Verification is per server. Someone verified on another server must verify again on yours.
Helping players and nicknames
These commands are for Scrim Managers and anyone with Manage Server.
- A player can't verify: link them by hand with
!forceverify @player #TAG. - To undo a link, use
!bsunlink @player. It also takes away the Verified role and clears their server nickname. - Nickname sync is on by default. It renames players to their Brawl Stars name when they verify. To turn it off, untick Nickname sync in the same section and save. Or type
!set nicksync 0. - To leave one person's name alone, use
!nicklock @player. Type it again to switch back. On the web, use the Nickname sync list on the dashboard's Players page. Type their name or Discord id and press Add. Remove lets the bot rename them again.
Things people get stuck on
- Running the full setup again sets this choice again. That means the Setup page, or Setup in
!panel. If you leave the verify box unticked, or press No in Discord, the requirement turns off. Check the Settings page after you run it. Typing!setupin a channel only makes a queue. It does not change this. - Sync only renames someone at the moment they verify. Turning sync on later doesn't rename players who verified before. Turning it off doesn't give old names back.
!forceverifyrenames the player even when sync is off. Run!nicklockon them first, or add them to the list on the Players page, if you don't want that.- The bot can't rename the server owner, or anyone whose highest role is the same as or above the bot's. It also needs the Manage Nicknames permission.
- When players use
/verify, renames only happen if the server has the bot's Verified role. Setup makes it. To use a role you already have, pick it as Verified role on the Setup page, under Channels and roles the bot uses. - If you use clans, clan tags are still added to names when sync is off. Only
!nicklock, or the list on the Players page, stops them.
Next, read Every role explained to see what the Verified role does, or Settings and features for everything else on that page.
