Make a Brawl Ball only queue

Give one queue its own map pool so it plays only the modes and maps you pick.

You can give one queue its own map pool, so it plays only Brawl Ball, or any mode you pick. Your other queues don't change. This is part of the paid tier. Free servers can see the map list but can't save it.

Why not use the Maps page? It changes the server pool, so every queue that uses the server pool changes at once. It also can't take a whole mode out. If you remove a mode's last map, its default maps come back.

Steps

  1. Open the dashboard's Live page and find the queue's card.
  2. Click Map pool at the bottom of the card. Next to it you see what the queue plays now: Server pool, the 1v1 default, or Own pool.
  3. Open Brawl Ball and tick several maps. Leave every other mode unticked.
  4. Press Save maps. The queue now plays only the maps you ticked. Its Discord panel gets a Maps line that says This queue only: Brawl Ball, with the number of maps.
  5. To check it in Discord, anyone can type !mappool in the queue channel. It shows this queue's maps. A Scrim Manager can also type !queue there. Its Maps line says Own pool: Brawl Ball, with the number of maps.
  6. To go back, press Use Maps tab maps. On a 1v1 queue this button is called Use 1v1 default.

Two or more modes

Tick Brawl Ball and Heist maps to get a two-mode queue. In a best of 3 or 5, the games go through the ticked modes in turn, in a random order. If there are fewer modes than games, the modes repeat. Each game takes a random map of its mode, so the same map can come up twice.

A map that isn't in the list

Under the ticked maps, use Add a map just for this queue. Pick the mode, type the map's name the way the game shows it, with spaces, and press Add. Only this queue gets it: the Maps page and your other queues don't change.

For a map every queue should play, add it on the Maps page instead. Type the name in the box under its mode, for example Center Stage under Brawl Ball, and press Add. Queues that use the server pool can draw it straight away.

In Discord, a Scrim Manager can use !mappooladd BrawlBall Center Stage. It adds to the server pool. Everything after the mode is the map name. Write the mode with no spaces, like GemGrab or HotZone. Adding maps is paid, on the dashboard and in Discord. The bot doesn't check that a map is real, so spell it exactly.

A mode that isn't in the list

For a new or event mode, like Wipeout:

  • Just one queue: in Add a map just for this queue, pick New mode..., type the mode's name and its first map, and press Add.
  • Every queue: on the Maps page, use Add a new mode with the mode's name and its first map. Then add more maps under it like any other mode.

A server can have up to 12 modes. Capitals are added for you, so wipeout becomes Wipeout. Numbers count, so Bounty 2 is a mode of its own. Once a mode exists, !mappooladd in Discord can add maps to it too.

Things that catch people out

  • Tick more than one map. With only one, every game is on the same map.
  • Save maps with nothing ticked saves nothing. Press Use Maps tab maps (or Use 1v1 default on a 1v1 queue) to clear the queue's maps.
  • Later changes on the Maps page don't change this queue. A new map there must be ticked here too. A map you remove there stays in this queue until you untick it and press Save maps.
  • Maps can't be set with !queue, and !queue default doesn't reset them.
  • A 1v1 queue with its own pool plays those maps, not the fixed 1v1 Bounty map.

To change the queue's match size or best of, see Setting up the bot. Every map command is on the Staff powers page.
