How-to
Change the command prefix
Stop BrawlScrims and another bot both answering the same ! commands.
Many servers already run a bot that answers to !. If both bots answer, one message can start two commands. Give BrawlScrims its own prefix. Then BrawlScrims stops answering !, and the other bot keeps it.
Setting a new prefix
- Pick 1 to 3 characters with no spaces, for example
?orsc. - Run
/setprefix prefix:?. You need the Scrim Manager role, Manage Server or Administrator. The server owner can always do it. - Or use the dashboard's Settings page. Open the first section, Commands. Pick a prefix from Command prefix. Then press Save settings in the bar at the bottom. The dashboard offers
!?.-$+. - The dashboard's Setup page has the same list. It is saved when you press Set it up, and that button also runs the setup.
- The dashboard only has these six. For any other prefix, like
sc, use/setprefix. After that, the dashboard shows it as the current prefix and keeps it when you save. - Tell your staff. From now on, text commands start with the new prefix:
?setup,?queue 1v1 bo3.
A custom prefix is free on every server.
What changes
!does nothing for BrawlScrims any more. The other bot keeps it.- One space after the prefix is fine.
scsetupandsc setupboth work. - Type the prefix the way you set it. If you set
sc, thenSC setupdoes not work. - Slash commands never change.
/verifyand/leaderboardwork the same as before. - Some bot messages and guide pages still show commands with
!. Type your own prefix instead.
Going back
Run /setprefix prefix:!. /setprefix always works, whatever the prefix is, so nobody gets locked out.
Tip. Looking for a staff command? Use
/staffhelp. Its lists show your own prefix. There is no text version of it.Next
